It all started with the dream of two people who did not have enough money to pay the bills. But they had a dream. Chez Lucas and Laity opened Houston’s Heart of Texas Olive Oil in 2012. Our home is in Houston, and that is where our heart is, hence “Heart of Texas”. We started with a little more than a dream and a prayer. Between us, we had over twenty years of experience working as employees of other restaurants. During these years we realized what worked and what did not. We decided to go ahead and open our restaurant and to achieve our dream.
Our first start was in a small room that only had the capacity for 37 people. We worked hard to make a menu of authentic family recipes, using only high-quality ingredients. We came to the realization that our food and our personalities created a charm for our little restaurant. Then our brothers Paul, Jaime and Chuy were part of our dream to complete the family business. Us five work together to establish a good reputation and in 2015had to grow to the place where we are now. We currently have a capacity of spaces for 75 people and also continue to prepare measured takeaways and for special occasions and events.
The two elaborate weekly menu using seasonal products looking to make healthy, fresh and original recipes. We cook together and prepare everything for our guests with all our love. To view the menu this week: Check our fan page!
